Low-cure silver metallic shimmer plastisol ink formulated with fine-to-medium metallic flakes to produce brilliant, high-impact shimmer effects with a smooth, soft feel, excellent fabric adhesion, stretch, and wash durability.

Characteristics

Avient 15370 ASI Silver Shimmer LC is a premium special-effect plastisol screen printing ink designed to produce a brilliant silver metallic shimmer on printed garments. Formulated with fine-to-medium metallic flakes, it creates an eye-catching reflective finish while maintaining a smooth surface and soft feel.

Designed as a ready-to-use shimmer ink, 15370 Silver Shimmer can be printed directly from the container or tinted with compatible plastisol colorants to create custom metallic colors. This versatility makes it an excellent option for fashion graphics, athletic apparel, logos, lettering, promotional garments, and other designs requiring a distinctive metallic appearance.

The formulation provides excellent adhesion to fabrics along with good stretch properties and wash durability. It is suitable for printing on cotton, blends, and select synthetic fabrics. Silver Shimmer can be printed directly to the fabric or over a flashed underbase when additional opacity or bleed resistance is required.

Avient 15370 features low-cure capabilities that can help reduce dryer temperatures, minimize energy consumption, and provide additional flexibility when decorating temperature-sensitive garments. The ink can be cured between 270°F and 320°F (132°C–160°C), with 270°F (132°C) serving as the recommended minimum cure temperature.

Because metallic pigments reflect infrared heat, forced-air curing is recommended for optimum results. When using an electric infrared dryer, additional dwell time may be necessary to ensure the entire ink film reaches the required cure temperature.

Usage Tips
  • Stir ink thoroughly before printing to ensure the metallic particles are evenly distributed.
  • Use consistent, properly tensioned screen mesh for optimum print performance and shimmer appearance.
  • Recommended mesh range is 86–110 threads per inch.
  • Print Silver Shimmer in the last color position whenever possible.
  • When using multiple screens, flash after each print as necessary to prevent unwanted pickup or contamination.
  • Print directly onto the garment or over a flashed underbase when additional opacity or bleed resistance is required.
  • Use an appropriate low-bleed underbase or blocker when printing on garments susceptible to dye migration.
  • Metallic pigments reflect infrared heat, so a forced-air conveyor dryer is recommended for reliable curing.
  • When using an electric infrared dryer, additional dwell time may be necessary to ensure the complete ink film reaches cure temperature.
  • Always verify the actual ink-film temperature rather than relying only on the dryer's temperature setting.
  • Test print and perform a wash test before beginning full production.
  • Keep the container tightly closed when not in use and store away from direct sunlight.
  • Avoid storage temperatures below 32°F (0°C), as extremely cold conditions may cause product separation.
