Highly concentrated plastisol viscosity reducer formulated to stabilize and improve ink flow, making thick plastisol inks easier to print while allowing precise viscosity adjustment with small additions.

Characteristics

Avient K2910 ASI Viscosity Buster is a concentrated plastisol ink reducer designed to stabilize and improve the flow properties of finished plastisol inks. Its highly concentrated formulation allows screen printers to make controlled viscosity adjustments using only a small amount of additive.

K2910 Viscosity Buster is especially useful with high-viscosity plastisol inks such as whites and blocker inks when additional flow is needed. Reducing excessive ink viscosity can make thick inks easier to work with and help improve their flow and handling characteristics during screen printing production.

Because Viscosity Buster is highly concentrated, Avient recommends beginning with approximately 0.5% by weight and increasing the amount in 0.5% increments until the desired viscosity is achieved. The total addition should not exceed 3% by weight.

When K2910 is used within the recommended percentages, printers should continue to follow the cure-temperature requirements specified for the plastisol ink being modified. Viscosity Buster is designed to adjust ink viscosity and does not lower the required cure temperature of the finished ink.

As with any plastisol reducer, significant changes in viscosity can alter the printing characteristics and performance of the ink. Small, controlled additions and thorough mixing are recommended so the printer can evaluate the effect before adding additional reducer.

Usage Tips
  • Stir the plastisol ink thoroughly before determining whether viscosity reduction is necessary.
  • Begin by adding K2910 at approximately 0.5% by weight.
  • Mix thoroughly before evaluating the change in viscosity.
  • If additional reduction is needed, increase the amount in 0.5% increments.
  • Do not exceed 3% K2910 by weight.
  • Add reducer gradually; excessive reduction can alter the printing characteristics of the ink.
  • K2910 is particularly useful for high-viscosity whites and blocker inks when the ink formulation recommends its use.
  • Always verify compatibility with the specific plastisol ink before making production-size adjustments.
  • Continue to follow the original plastisol ink's specified cure-temperature requirements.
  • Test the adjusted ink before beginning full production to confirm printability, cure, and finished performance.
